Job summary

The Ohio State University Medical Center is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join the Ross Anesthesia team in the James Operating Rooms and approved locations. The technician will set up, calibrate, and maintain anesthesia equipment, assist in anesthesia procedures, and coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure efficient operations. This role requires 3 months of patient care experience and familiarity with medical equipment; a Cert.

A.T. is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or possess a G.E.D.; 3 months patient care experience or equivalent; 3 months experience working with medical equipment or equivalent.
  • A Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cert. A.T.) is preferred but not required with equivalent combination of education and experience of 2-3 years.
  • Experience in anesthesia equipment management preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals preferred.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, check, inspect, maintain and calibrate a variety of anesthesia equipment.
  • Provide diagnostic and treatment services during regular recurring critical care situations.
  • Follow all safety standards to protect patients, staff and self.
  • Stock and organize work areas and ensure supplies are ready for use.
  • Demonstrate a positive, collaborative attitude and respect for patients, family and staff.
