Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking an anesthesia technician for the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Northbrook. You will support OR schedules, prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, and assist with patient readiness and room turnover.

The role requires BLS, a high school diploma, and healthcare experience; ASATT preferred. You will troubleshoot equipment with Biomedical Engineering and uphold sterile practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in sciences preferred.
• Previous operating room or healthcare experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ASATT certification preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English; communicate effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize in emergencies.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and aseptic practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consults OR schedule to determine supply and equipment needs.
• Prepares and provides support for anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Maintains and supports anesthesia machines and related equipment.
• Assists anesthesia attending with preparing patients for procedures.
• Assists with movement of equipment and supplies to ensure room turnover.
• Maintains readiness to assist in routine and emergency procedures.
• Troubleshoots equipment with Biomedical Engineering to resolve issues.
• Performs duties with service principles of innovation, service excellence and teamwork.
• Demonstrates knowledge of disinfection and sterilization protocols if required.
