Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is hiring an Anesthesia Technician in Northbrook, IL to support ORs and specialty suites with equipment and supplies for anesthesia procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing anesthesia equipment, maintaining machines, assisting with patient readiness, and ensuring rapid room turnover. Strong teamwork and English proficiency are required; BLS and OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree in sciences preferred.
• Previous operating room or healthcare experience required.
• BLS certification required; ASATT certification preferred.
• Prior anesthesia technician work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and aseptic practice preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English to clearly communicate and perform essential job duties.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a stressful environment.
• Ability to set priorities and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other health care team members.

Responsabilités

• Consult OR schedule to determine supply and equipment needs.
• Prepare and support anesthesia equipment and supplies in OR, Cath Lab, IR, MRI, CT, and Procedure Suites.
• Maintain and support anesthesia machines, monitors, infusion pumps, and related equipment.
• Assist anesthesia attending with patient preparation for procedures.
• Move and arrange equipment to ensure room turnover and readiness.
• Remain available to assist in routine and emergency procedures as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate with Biomedical Engineering to resolve issues.
• Adhere to service principles emphasizing innovation, service excellence and teamwork.
