Job summary

Community Health Systems in Las Cruces, NM seeks an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia team by preparing equipment, assisting with procedures, and maintaining supplies. You will work under supervision of anesthesiologists and CRNAs to ensure safe, efficient patient care across surgical areas.

Main duties include setting up monitors and anesthesia equipment, assisting with sterile techniques, handling ABGs and other tests, stocking supplies, and troubleshooting equipment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technician program preferred
• College coursework in Biology, Physiology, Anatomy, or related fields preferred
• 0-2 years of Anesthesia Technician experience preferred
• 1-2 years of LVN experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and maintain anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices for procedures
• Assist with aseptic or sterile techniques during procedures, including airway management and line placement
• Monitor vitals and report abnormalities to anesthesia providers
• Stock anesthesia supplies across operating rooms and procedural areas
• Assist with ABGs, ACTs, and other point-of-care tests
• Prepare, obtain, and deliver blood products and pharmaceuticals as requested by the team
• Provide technical guidance to other anesthesia technicians and staff
• Assist with patient transport, positioning, and monitor application
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions with appropriate repair departments
• Maintain readiness for routine and emergency procedures
• Comply with all policies and standards
