Job summary

MountainView Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM seeks an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia team by preparing equipment, assisting with procedures, and maintaining supplies. You will work under anesthesiologists and CRNAs to ensure readiness and safety across diverse procedures, maintaining sterile environments and coordinating with the team.

Ideal candidates have an accredited anesthesia technician program or related coursework, and 0–2 years of hospital experience; LVN

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technician program preferred or college coursework in Biology, Physiology, Anatomy, or related scientific fields.

Responsibilities

• Prepares anesthetizing locations by setting up, calibrating, and maintaining monitoring devices and anesthesia equipment for scheduled procedures.
• Assists anesthesia providers with aseptic or sterile techniques during non-invasive and invasive procedures, including airway management and IV/arterial line placement.
• Monitors and reports abnormal changes in patient vitals or appearance to anesthesia providers.
• Obtains and stocks anesthesia supplies in operating rooms, labor and delivery suites, and other procedural areas to ensure readiness.
• Assists with laboratory tests and results, including ABGs, ACTs, and other point-of-care tests.
• Prepares, obtains, and delivers blood products and pharmaceuticals as requested by the anesthesia team.
• Provides guidance to other anesthesia technicians and team members as needed.
• Assists with patient transport, positioning, and monitor application under supervision.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and coordinates with repair departments.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies and standards.
