Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to assist with stocking supplies, preparing operating rooms, and supporting anesthesia staff. This role emphasizes effective communication with nurses, physicians, and departments to ensure smooth patient care.

The position requires a high school diploma, hospital experience, and a BLS certificate within 30 days of hire; prior knowledge of growth and development relevant to patient care is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Previous experience in hospital setting.
• Knowledge of growth and development relevant to job duties.
• BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inventory management, ordering and stocking of anesthesia supplies.
• Order Anesthesia supplies from storeroom daily.
• Stock Anesthesia supplies in Operating Rooms daily.
• Stock medications in Pyxis machines for pharmacy as needed.
• Clean and stock in Operating Rooms between cases.
• Report equipment problems to Biomed and Anesthesia as needed.
• Assist in evaluation of new equipment and supplies.
• Assist Anesthesia with anesthesia procedures as needed (e.g., difficult airway, arterial lines, nerve blocks).
• Orient new staff and students to anesthesia supplies and equipment.
• Communicate changes in supplies, medications, equipment, back orders, substitutions to Anesthesia Charge provider.
• Maintain department policies and safety/environmental standards.
