Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a dedicated Anesthesia Support role to ensure safe, efficient care for surgical patients across all ages. The incumbent will manage par levels, restock carts and ORs, and assist with anesthesia machine checks in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities include assembling IV and transducer sets, maintaining equipment readiness, and assisting the Anesthesiologist during critical moments such as airway management and code events.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Experience in Anesthesia Department or Nursing Assistant role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrange for appropriate care for surgical patients across age groups.
• Check and restock anesthesia carts, omnicells, ORs and equipment to maintain par levels.
• Perform anesthesia machine checks and demonstrate competency with this skill.
• Assemble IV fluid sets and transducer sets for anesthesia use per protocol.
• Calibrate and record daily equipment checks and ensure equipment is in working order.
• Assist Anesthesiologist with line placement; be available during critical times.
• Maintain supply inventory and restock equipment room throughout shift.
• Position patients for anesthetic procedures and assist with moving equipment to NORA locations.
