Job summary

The Anesthesia Technician at Community Health Systems supports the anesthesia team by preparing equipment, assisting with procedures, and maintaining supplies in operating rooms and delivery areas.

Under supervision of anesthesiologists and CRNAs, the role ensures a sterile environment, monitors devices, and helps with lab tests and blood products as needed. Regular attendance and adherence to policies are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technician program preferred.
• Basic knowledge of anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices.
• Familiarity with sterile techniques and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares anesthetizing locations by setting up and maintaining monitoring devices and anesthesia equipment.
• Assists providers with sterile techniques during procedures and airway management.
• Monitors vital signs and reports changes to anesthesia teams.
• Stocks supplies in operating rooms and other procedural areas.
• Aids with ABGs, ACTs, and point-of-care tests as needed.
• Delivers blood products and medications as requested.
• Troubleshoots equipment and coordinates repairs.
• Assists with patient transport and positioning under supervision.
