Job summary

Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Bluffton, SC is expanding perioperative services and seeking an Anesthesia Technician for the Operating Room. You will assist with equipment and supplies and support the anesthesia care team in both routine and complex cases.

Under supervision, you will work within the anesthesia department, reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services, contributing to high-quality patient care and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in health care field or hospital setting, preferably OR/anesthesia.
• BLS certification required before first clinical shift (American Heart Association).
• Certified Anesthesia Technician certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the anesthesia team with acquiring, preparing, and use of equipment and supplies during anesthesia.
• Provide support for routine and complex surgical cases.
• Work under supervision of the anesthesia department and report to the Director of Perioperative Services.

Job Description

South of Broad Healthcare (SOBH) is expanding access to high-quality, community-based healthcare throughout southern Beaufort County and the surrounding Lowcountry. Grounded by a mission of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, SOBH supports strategic growth designed to bring essential healthcare services closer to the people and communities we serve. At the center of SOBH is Bluffton Community Hospital, a new 28 bed, full-service hospital. Approximately 90,000 square foot facility will include a 24/7 emergency department, an acute inpatient nursing unit, surgical and endoscopy suites, a cardiac catheterization lab, advanced imaging, laboratory services, and additional outpatient capabilities. The hospital is scheduled for completion in late 2026, with patient care anticipated to being early 2027.

The Anesthesia Technician provides anesthesia technician services to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia care provider. Assists the anesthesia care team with acquiring, preparing and use of equipment and supplies during the administration of anesthesia. Assist with special procedures and provide support in anesthesia for routine and complex surgical cases. Functions under the supervision of the anesthesia department and its physicians and CRNAs/AAs, and reports to the Director of Perioperative Services.

Position Requirements

Education

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

• Current experience in health care field or in hospital setting particularly within the OR or Anesthesia Department.

Certifications/Licenses

• BLS certification required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).
• Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer. A.T.) certification preferred.
