Job summary

Tufts Medical Center, Inc. is seeking an Anesthesia Support Technician to assist anesthesiologists and nursing staff in the operating room and PACU. You will prepare patient equipment, monitor vital signs, and maintain anesthesia supplies and equipment to ensure safe procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS, and at least one year in Surgical Services or PACU; EMT certification is a plus. This full-time, on-site position is based in Boston within Tufts Medicine.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of related experience in Surgical Services, Operating Room, or PACU.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree and EMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesiologists and nursing staff with patient care tasks including transfers, equipment prep, intubations, and regional anesthesia.
• Set up IV solutions, arterial lines, and equipment for anesthesiologists.
• Stock and inventory anesthesia supplies; order from storeroom and pharmacy.
• Maintain anesthesia equipment, monitor function, and clean/housekeeping duties in work areas.
• Calibrate invasive monitors and operate glucometer as needed.
• Support clerical tasks at control desk and maintain library/catalogs.
