Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BCLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide approved assistance to Anesthesiologists/CRNAs during induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Assist anesthesiologists/CRNAs with placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices.
• Maintain equipment and supplies needed for anesthesia care on a daily and per-case basis.
• Apply infection control and safety principles, including proper handling, cleaning, sterilizing, and disposal of equipment.
• Set up sterile equipment (intravenous, central venous, arterial, and pulmonary artery catheters) using sterile technique.
• Operate and disassemble cell saver equipment and rapid infuser devices as assigned.
• Perform standard checks on equipment and report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Ensure sterility and cleanliness of specialized equipment (TEE, fiber optic scopes, LMA).
• Keep work areas clean and orderly before, during, and after shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
