Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking an Anesthesia Tech to assist anesthesiologists with patient monitoring lines, intubations, and other invasive or noninvasive procedures as appropriate. You will maintain, order, stock anesthesia supplies and equipment, providing first line maintenance and troubleshooting.

The role requires the ability to work quickly under pressure, strong organizational skills, and willingness to float to all locations.

Qualifications

Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Required to float to all locations of UCI Health as needed.
Demonstrated experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or a fast paced OR environment.
Basic mathematical skills to quickly and accurately add, subtract, divide, and multiply whole numbers and decimals manually or using a calculator.
Availability to rotate shifts, take call and work weekends.
Ability to speak, read and follow directions in English.
Possession of Anesthesia Technician Certification
Knowledge of medical computer software systems
Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

Assist anesthesiologists with placement of patient monitoring lines and difficult intubations, as well as other invasive or noninvasive procedures as appropriate.
Maintain, order, and stock anesthesia supplies and equipment.
Provide first line equipment maintenance, calibrations, and troubleshooting.
Work closely with Anesthesia, the OR Manager, and Biomedical engineering to ensure equipment and supplies are within expiration dates, available, well maintained and clean.
