Job summary

Responsibilities include maintaining the OR, passing instruments, instrument sterilization, sponge/needle counts, and assisting with patient positioning. You will support the team and adhere to policy.

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate in Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program.
• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required.
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical cases.
• Assist the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies accurately and efficiently.
• Handle surgical instruments, ensure sterilization, inspection, and assembly.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse.
• Assist in patient positioning, draping, and transfer during procedures.
• Maintain and update physician preference cards for procedures.
• Clean, reprocess, and sterilize instruments per protocol.
• Restock supplies and ensure OR readiness for subsequent cases.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with policies.
