Job summary

Inova Health in Alexandria, VA is seeking an Anesthesia Technician 2 to join our OR support team. This full-time role involves 3–12 hour shifts, including Sundays from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and Monday/Tuesday nights from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

You will assist anesthesiologists, maintain anesthesia delivery systems, and help ensure emergency equipment is ready for daily operations, with competitive benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before start.

Responsibilities

• Assists and anticipates needs of Anesthesiologist in invasive monitor insertion and procedures per hospital policy.
• Demonstrates knowledge and troubleshooting for anesthesia delivery systems and monitoring devices.
• Ensures essential emergency equipment is in place prior to daily start and assists with monitoring devices.
• Stocks anesthesia supplies and maintains workrooms according to template.
• Performs daily maintenance, inventory and cleaning of anesthesia workrooms and related cabinets.

Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for an Anesthesia Technician 2 to join the team! This role will be a Full-time, 3-12-hour shifts, Sunday days (7AM-7:30 PM) Monday & Tuesday Nights 6PM-6:30AM)

Anesthesia Technician 2 Job Responsibilities

• Assists and anticipates needs of Anesthesiologist in invasive monitor insertion and procedures such as pulmonary artery catheter, central venous access, fiberoptic intubation and difficult airway situations per hospital policy.
• Demonstrates detailed technical knowledge and troubleshooting ability for anesthesia delivery systems, gas analyzer, EKG and pulse oximeter per manufacture guidelines.
• Verifies essential emergency equipment is in place prior to the start of the day. Assists with the correct application of monitoring devices.
• Stocks anesthesia supplies, IV fluids, Inhalation gases, printer labels and ink per template on Anesthesia McKesson Carts.
• Performs daily maintenance, inventory and cleaning of Anesthesia Workrooms A/B/C, Women's, C-Section, Stat Lab, CVOR cabinets and the supply shelves in GE and EP/Cath.
• Identifies and sets up pharmaceutical and infusion pumps according to anesthesia guidelines.
• Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Years of Experience: One year of experience in a clinical environment.
• Certification: Basic Life Support via America Heart Association required upon start
