Job summary

OSF HealthCare seeks an Anesthesia Support Specialist to assist the anesthetist with maintenance and monitoring of anesthesia equipment, supply management, and room preparation according to established procedures. The role follows AORN standards and supports cleaning and preparation of the surgery and procedural rooms.

Minimum education is High School/GED with at least 6 months of work experience. CPR/BLS certification is preferred, along with knowledge of OR procedures and basic medical

• Handle supply management and department cleaning; prepare the surgery room with equipment and supplies per procedures.
• Follow AORN standards and recommended practices; assist in cleaning and preparing the surgery/procedural rooms.

Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Anesthesia Support Specialist assists the anesthetist by performing various tasks, including the maintenance and monitoring of anesthesia equipment and machines, supply management, department cleaning, and preparation of the surgery room with equipment and supplies according to established procedures. Follows and understand the standards and recommended practices according to the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN). The Anesthesia Support Specialist assists in cleaning and preparing the surgery room and procedural room in addition to managing the care of the anesthesia equipment.
