Job summary

BayCare is seeking an Anesthesia Specialty Coder II to primarily work remotely from within the United States. This CPC/CCS/CCS-P certified coder codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, audits documentation, and mentors other coders.

Requires 2 years of coding experience and 1 year in a medical office setting. Location flexibility includes residing in FL, GA, NC, or SC while supporting BayCare's anesthesia coding and billing processes.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of coding experience and 1 year of medical office experience.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) OR Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) OR CCS-P required.
• High School or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10 CM and CPT-4.
• Audit physician documentation to assign appropriate codes and anesthesia minutes.
• Mentor and train other Specialty Coders.
• Serve as a resource for the department and perform other duties as assigned.

Position Details:

The Anesthesia Specialty Coder II is a Certified Professional Coder who assigns diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-9 CM and CPT-4 coding systems, and audits physician documentation. The Anesthesia Specialty Coder II audits physician documentation to assign appropriate anesthesia CPT codes, diagnosis codes, and modifiers related to anesthesia coding and billing as well as anesthesia minutes. Mentors and training other Specialty Coders. Serves as a resource for the department. Performs other duties as assigned. Required experience includes 2 years of coding experience and 1 year of medical office related experience.

• Location: Remote (must reside in the state of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina)
• Status: Full time (non-exempt)
• Shift: 8:00AM - 4:30PM
• Days: Monday through Friday
