Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks an Anesthesia Specialty Coder II (REMOTE) to join our team. The role codes anesthesia procedures, audits documentation, and mentors other coders. Requires CPC/CCS/CCS-P or equivalent certification, plus 2 years coding and 1 year medical office experience.

Residence must be in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina for remote eligibility; standard full-time schedule applies.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CCS/CCS-P certification preferred.
• 2 years coding experience and 1 year of medical office related experience.
• Assigns codes using ICD-10 CM and CPT-4 and audits physician documentation.
• Mentors and trains other Specialty Coders; acts as a department resource.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10 CM and CPT-4.
• Audit physician documentation to assign correct CPT and diagnosis codes.
• Mentor and train other Specialty Coders.
• Serve as a resource for the department; perform other duties as assigned.

Position Details:

The Anesthesia Specialty Coder II is a Certified Professional Coder who assigns diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-9 CM and CPT-4 coding systems, and audits physician documentation. The Anesthesia Specialty Coder II audits physician documentation to assign appropriate anesthesia CPT codes, diagnosis codes, and modifiers related to anesthesia coding and billing as well as anesthesia minutes. Mentors and training other Specialty Coders. Serves as a resource for the department. Performs other duties as assigned. Required experience includes 2 years of coding experience and 1 year of medical office related experience.

• Location: Remote (must reside in the state of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina)

• Status: Full time (non-exempt)

• Shift: 8:00AM - 4:30PM

• Days: Monday through Friday
