Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking an Anesthesia Specialty Coder II for a full-time remote role. You will assign ICD-10 CM and CPT-4 codes, audit documentation, and mentor other coders. Must reside in FL, GA, NC, or SC.

Responsibilities include coding, auditing, and serving as a resource within the department. Experience in anesthesia coding and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years coding experience.
• 1 year medical office related experience.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) OR CCS OR CCS-P.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10 CM and CPT-4.
• Audit physician documentation and modify codes/modifiers as needed.
• Mentor and train other Specialty Coders; serve as a department resource.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Details

The Anesthesia Specialty Coder II is a Certified Professional Coder who assigns diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-9 CM and CPT-4 coding systems, and audits physician documentation. The Anesthesia Specialty Coder II audits physician documentation to assign appropriate anesthesia CPT codes, diagnosis codes, and modifiers related to anesthesia coding and billing as well as anesthesia minutes. Mentors and training other Specialty Coders. Serves as a resource for the department. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required

experience includes 2 years of coding experience and 1 year of medical office related experience.

• Location: Remote (must reside in the state of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or South Carolina)
• Status: Full time (non-exempt)
• Shift: 8:00AM - 4:30PM
• Days: Monday through Friday
