Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an Anesthesia Scheduler to manage daily scheduling of anesthesia providers across perioperative services in Gilbert, AZ. The role requires coordinating coverage, resources, and real-time adjustments to support scheduled surgeries and procedures.

You’ll partner with anesthesia providers and OR staff to optimize workflow and patient care. The position emphasizes leadership, organizational skills, and excellent communication, with exposure to credentialing and onboarding

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in healthcare related field or equivalent working knowledge.
• Requires 4 years of surgery scheduling experience.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with spreadsheet software and computerized scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains anesthesia team scheduling process to ensure provider/resource availability.
• Liaises between facility departments and anesthesia team.
• Plan, strategize, and maintain staffing mix; escalate critical cases.
• Develops schedules, distributes them, and reports status to leadership.
• Coordinate provider meals/breaks to ensure seamless coverage.
• Build relationships with clinicians and staff; communicate schedule changes.
• Collaborate with Credentialing, Enrollment, Recruiting, Payroll, and Client Administration.
• Verify new providers complete onboarding before first shift.
• Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phones and data entry.
