Job summary

University of Michigan’s Anesthesiology Department seeks an Anesthesiology Technician to support anesthesia providers in diverse settings. You will help prepare and maintain anesthesia delivery systems, assist in line placement, and ensure readiness of equipment for cardiac and vascular cases.

You will participate in inductions, monitor supplies, and help transport critically ill patients within the operating suite. This role requires teamwork, attention to safety, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED that meets the education requirement from the College of American Pathologists for point of care lab testing.
• At least 1 year Anesthesia Technician experience at Michigan Medicine.
• Physical requirements described including lifting and moving heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate anesthesia equipment (fluid warmers, warm-air blankets, rapid infuser).
• Assist with arterial lines, central lines, epidural catheters, and airway devices.
• Prepare equipment for Cardiac and Vascular cases and assist with placement.
• Assist with anesthetic induction and transport of critically ill patients.
