Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC seeks an Anesthesia Technician to set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment and assist the anesthesia care team with patient monitoring and equipment preparation for procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting with invasive and non-invasive monitoring, ensuring equipment is in good working order, and maintaining sterility and proper labeling of supplies. The role requires BLS and relevant program graduation with on-site evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Anesthesia Technician program (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• If graduation from an accredited Anesthesia Technician program: No prior experience required or six months OR traineeship in OR equipment handling.

Responsibilities

• Assists with invasive and non-invasive monitoring devices and patient positioning, preparing fluids and setups for use, and maintaining sterile technique.
• Performs quality control and troubleshooting on anesthesia equipment, conducts 12-point inspections, and ensures sterility and proper labeling of fluids/medications.
• Sets up and cleans anesthesia equipment, restocks supplies, and documents equipment handling per policy.
