Job summary

Novant Health seeks an Anesthesia Tech to support anesthesia teams across procedures, ensuring sterile, stocked, and ready supplies. You will assist with monitors, lines, and emergency readiness, while maintaining a clean and organized workroom.

Responsibilities include preparing supplies pre/post-op, calibrating equipment, and aiding anesthesiologists/CRNAs in complex scenarios. Valid certification timelines apply; standard hospital schedule is in place.

Qualifications

• Must pass generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting anesthesia equipment; inventory management.
• Familiarity with anesthesia equipment and medical terminology.
• RQI Responder certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare anesthesia supplies preoperatively and postoperatively by cleaning, packing, and inventorying.
• Ensure anesthesia equipment is available; check and order supplies as needed.
• Maintain anesthesia workroom and equipment in clean, aseptic condition.
• Set up and calibrate anesthesia equipment and monitors; manage gas tanks.
• Assist anesthesiologists/CRNAs with patient care and emergency procedures.
• Assist with invasive monitoring setup and central venous/arterial lines.
• Maintain medication security and notify appropriate personnel about unsecured meds.
• All other duties as assigned.
