Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (or equivalent work experience)
• Certification in coding (AAPC or AHIMA) required
• Minimum 2 years anesthesia coding/auditing experience in surgical/procedural settings

Responsibilities

• Perform anesthesia coding/designations using ICD-10-CM, CPT, ASA, HCPCS II and modifiers
• Conduct chart audits to ensure accurate coding and charge capture
• Research billing rules and denial causes with revenue cycle stakeholders
• Maintain coding certifications and stay current with guidelines
• Provide cross-coverage of multiple specialties and act as SME for assigned areas
