Job summary

PayPal's Venmo team in San Jose is hiring an Android engineer to design, build, and ship high-quality Android experiences for Venmo Commerce. You will implement modern UI with Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, own features end-to-end, and collaborate with backend, identity, risk, analytics, and iOS teams to deliver cohesive, scalable mobile experiences.

You'll work within a hybrid model, contributing to architecture decisions, code reviews, and performance improvements across a large Android application

Qualifications

1+ years of relevant Android development experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and ship high-quality Android experiences for Venmo Commerce.
Develop modern, reusable UI using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose within Venmo's mobile architecture.
Own features end to end from design to launch and observability.
Integrate mobile experiences with backend APIs, payments infrastructure, identity, risk, search, analytics.
Ensure performance, resilience, accessibility, security, and good UX across devices.
Collaborate with Product/Data Science to optimize funnels and outcomes.
Coordinate with iOS to deliver coherent cross-platform experiences.
