Job summary

Venmo is seeking an experienced Android engineer to build and ship high‑quality mobile experiences for Venmo Commerce. You will design UI with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, own features end‑to‑end, and collaborate with backend, payments, and iOS teams to deliver cohesive cross‑platform experiences.

You will work within a balanced hybrid model in San Jose, contributing to architecture reviews, code quality, and production readiness. Prior experience with payments or fintech is a plus.

Qualifications

• Production Android apps in Kotlin.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android toolchain.
• Solid MVVM/MVI architecture fundamentals.
• REST or GraphQL integration with Retrofit and OkHttp.
• Testing with JUnit, MockK, and UI tests.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and ship Android experiences for Venmo Commerce.
• Develop reusable UI using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Own features end to end from design to launch and telemetry.
• Integrate with backend APIs and payments infrastructure.
• Collaborate with iOS and participate in code/design reviews.
• Ensure performance, accessibility, security across devices.
