Job summary

Teal Drones is seeking a hands-on Android Engineer (C++/NDK) to own Android‑based ground control station work for drone platforms. You’ll build, debug, and optimize native C++ systems on Android for mission planning, telemetry, and real‑time vehicle control within a QGroundControl/Qt environment.

You will work across Android internals, JNI, and networking, with emphasis on performance, reliability, and field robustness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong C++ proficiency.
• Hands-on Android native development (NDK/JNI) and memory management.
• Experience with multi‑threaded, performance‑sensitive systems.
• Familiarity with MAVLink, UAV protocols, or ground control software is a plus.
• Comfortable in Linux-based environments; Qt/QML experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain native C++ ground control functionality for real-time workflows.
• Build and optimize Android NDK components for mission planning and vehicle control.
• Develop robust JNI boundaries and manage memory and threading lifecycles.
• Debug multithreaded native code and cross-language integration points.
• Integrate MAVLink across transports (UDP/TCP/USB/Serial) on Android.
• Collaborate with firmware and field-test teams to resolve issues fast.
