Job summary

Anduril Industries is hiring a remote Android Engineer in the United States to design and build map-based user interfaces for real-time military aircraft control. You’ll work across Android frontend and backend stacks, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure software.

The role requires experience with Jetpack Compose, Java/Kotlin, and C++/Rust/Golang, along with strong networking knowledge and a U.S. Secret clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Experience developing UI applications, especially map-based or data-intensive systems.
• Proficiency in Android languages including Jetpack Compose, XML, Java, Kotlin.
• Proficiency in backend languages such as C++, Rust, or Golang.
• Familiar with networking (TCP/UDP/Multicast, HTTP/REST, protobuf/gRPC).
• Ability to balance user needs with practical engineering constraints and user empathy.
• Willingness to on-call support and travel up to 30%, including international travel.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and build real-time map-based UIs for controlling aircraft via Android app.
• Define APIs for network communications, telemetry, and vehicle control with streaming video.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, PMs, and end-users to iterate on capabilities.
• Work with Android frontend (Jetpack Compose) and backend tech (Java/Kotlin/C/C++) stack.
• Engage with TAK SDK and developer community; collaborate on multiple full-stack technologies.
