Job summary

eyesAtop is expanding its US engineering team in the New York metropolitan area. The Android Application Engineer will own the control app end to end, translating field feedback into product decisions and working with pilots and operators.

You will build real-time UIs for drone telemetry, maps, video, and fleet status, optimize performance on rugged Android hardware, and ensure reliability in high-stakes environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional Android development in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, clean architecture).
• Experience with real-time data rendering: maps, video, and telemetry.
• Solid networking fundamentals: sockets, HTTP, WebSockets.

Responsibilities

• Own the eyesAtop Android control application: architecture, development, performance, and reliability
• Build real-time UIs displaying live drone telemetry, video feeds, maps, and fleet status
• Design operator workflows for commanding autonomous drone fleets in high-stakes environments
• Manage real-time data streams over UDP/TCP, WebSockets, and custom protocols
• Optimize for responsiveness on rugged Android hardware
• Collaborate with pilots, operators, backend, and integration teams
