Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking an Android Engineer to architect and build user interfaces from backend to frontend, deploying to users and ensuring they meet requirements. You’ll work with engineers from diverse backgrounds and collaborate with stakeholders to make scalable, maintainable systems.

You will design real-time, map-based UIs, implement APIs for telemetry and control, and help define software architectures alongside chief engineers, product designers, and end-user customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field (CS/CE/AE or equivalent).
• Experience building UI-heavy, data-intensive or map-based applications.
• Proficiency with Android languages and frameworks (Jetpack Compose, XML, Java, Kotlin).
• Proficiency with backend languages (C++, Rust, or Golang).
• Knowledge of client/server networking (TCP/UDP/Multicast, HTTP/REST, protobuf/gRPC).
• Ability to translate user needs into features with strong UX focus.
• Willingness to provide on-call support and travel up to 30%.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy real-time, map-based UIs for displaying sensor data and controlling aircraft via ATAK integration.
• Define APIs for network communications, telemetry, vehicle config, and video streaming.
• Work with engineers, designers, PMs, and customers to define software architectures and UX workflows.
• Collaborate with Android frontend tech (Jetpack Compose) and backend tech (Java/Kotlin/C++/Rust/Golang).
• Work with ATAK SDK and TAK developer community to integrate features on multiple platforms.
• Collaborate with diverse tech stacks (TypeScript/React, C++/Qt, C#/.NET) and perform multi-level testing.
