Job summary

Anduril Industries in Seattle is seeking an Android Engineer to design and build real-time, map-based UI for Fury, Barracuda and other aircraft, from backend to frontend, within ATAK plugin ecosystem. You will work with Android Jetpack Compose, Java/Kotlin, C++, Rust, and define APIs for communication and autonomous tasking.

Collaborate with chief engineers, product designers, and field teams to ensure scalable, secure software that meets user needs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Experience developing UI applications for high-traffic, data-intensive or map-based systems.
• Proficiency with Jetpack Compose, XML, Java, and Kotlin.
• Proficiency with C++, Rust, or Golang.
• Familiarity with TCP/UDP/Multicast, HTTP/REST or protobuf/gRPC.
• Empathize with users, translate needs into software features, balance UX with engineering.
• Willingness to provide on-call support and travel up to 30% and obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy real-time, map-based UIs for sensor data and aircraft control via Android app and ATAK plugins.
• Define and implement APIs for networking, telemetry, configuration, video streaming, and autonomous tasking.
• Help define software architectures, visuals, and UX workflows for multiple UAS with engineers and end users.
• Collaborate with Android frontend (Jetpack Compose) and backend (Java/Kotlin/C++/Rust/Golang) stacks and CI/CD tooling.
• Work with ATAK SDK and TAK developer community; collaborate with other tech stacks (TypeScript/React, C++/Qt, C#/.NET).
• Test and evaluate software via simulations, benchtop hardware, and live flight assets.
