GEO Prep Academy of Baton Rouge is seeking an Ancillary Teacher (Music, Art, Physical Education, Computer Lab, or STEM) for a part-time, 10-month role. The position emphasizes blended learning, data-driven instruction, and engagement to foster student thinking and problem-solving across K-8.

Responsibilities include collaboration with SPED teachers, attending meetings, and supporting strong academic achievement through TAP-aligned practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in content area.
• Louisiana teaching license or eligible to obtain one.
• Experience integrating technology to support learning.
• Volunteer or community service demonstrated.
• At least two years of urban teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a blended learning environment.
• Engage in TAP requirements with data-driven instruction.
• Create an inviting and engaging learning environment.
• Prepare students for assessments and academic achievement.
• Collaborate with Special Education teachers and admin.
• Attend grade level and staff meetings and after-hours events.
• Establish and enforce classroom behavior rules.
• Receive and apply feedback from staff.
• Perform morning, lunch, dismissal and after-school duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

This is part time 10-month position

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

An Ancillary Teacher (Music, Art, Physical Education, Computer Lab, or STEM) is required to perform the following duties:

• Plan and implement a blended learning environment
• Participation in all TAP requirements, focusing on data-driven instruction
• Create an inviting, exciting, innovative and engaging learning environment that develops student critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Prepare students for strong academic achievement and passing of all required assessments
• Work with the Special Education teachers and administration to serve special needs students in the classroom
• Attend all grade level and staff meetings and attend designated school functions outside of school hours
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible
• Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff
• Perform necessary duties including but not limited to morning, lunch, dismissal, and after-school duties
• Performs other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the principal

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFCATIONS:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in content area
• Valid Louisiana Teaching License
• Strong technical skills, particularly in integrating technology in the classroom to drive academic achievement
• Demonstrated volunteer or community service
• At least two years of successful teaching in an urban environment
