Job summary

Harnish Group Inc. in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Rental Technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar, Allied and Genie equipment both in shop and in the field. You will troubleshoot engines, powertrains and hydraulic systems with CAT tooling and document work orders.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and flexibility for forklift operations in some locations. CAT dealership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• A high school degree (or equivalent) plus a graduate of a 2–4-year vocational technical school training institution or equivalent experience preferred.
• A valid driver's license required.
• Potential forklift driving and operation equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, pressure washers, in some locations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook).
• Ability to stand up to eight hours per day and flexibility to work in shop or field.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing Caterpillar, Allied and Genie or aerial equipment including removing, repairing, assembling and installing.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems; experience with CAT diagnostic equipment and tooling.
• Plan and organize work with emphasis on controlling job costs.
• Investigate, analyze and identify problems to make recommendations that solve issues.
• Communicate effectively; document work orders and use internal software.
