a TEGNA ABC/CW affiliate in Memphis has an exciting opportunity for a creative, innovative, and enterprising Anchor. We seek an excellent on-camera communicator to serve our audience and community, excelling at accountability reporting and breaking news. The ideal candidate will be a trailblazer in news, dedicated to truth and impactful storytelling. This journalist should be comfortable asking tough questions, working with producers to craft engaging newscasts, and developing community contacts to produce compelling stories.

Responsibilities :

1. Use editorial judgment to help determine content of the newscasts.
2. Collaborate with the team to create unique, fast-paced, innovative newscasts.
3. Utilize social media to inform content and highlight major social stories.
4. Write and post daily across all digital platforms, including social media.
5. Develop story ideas, write, shoot, and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting.
6. Create original content through social listening and independent sources.
7. Perform additional tasks as required by supervisors or executive producers.
8. Preferably hold a Journalism and/or Communication degree.
9. Understand the principles of professional Journalism.
10. Possess excellent, creative presentation and writing skills.

3. Write in an exciting, captivating, and authentic manner.
4. Utilize the latest editing and photography tools effectively.

8. Post daily on all digital platforms, including social media.
9. Enterprise news stories and write for the web, including attaching images and streaming videos.
10. Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new media forms to enhance stories.
