Job summary

Discord seeks an Analytics Manager to lead the Scaled Abuse Countermeasures and Research (SCAR) team. You will guide analysts, researchers, and engineers to investigate threats, define a strategic roadmap, and drive automated countermeasures across the platform.

You will work with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Policy, Legal, and Revenue to influence safety-by-design decisions. Applicants should have strong SQL/Python skills and proven leadership in safety domains.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of people management experience leading technical teams.
• 4+ years in Trust & Safety domain such as fraud, spam, or high-volume threats.
• Fluency in SQL and/or Python for data analysis.
• Strong analytical problem-solving with focus on measurement and experimentation.
• Experience driving automation adoption in operations or incident response.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, scientists, and researchers investigating active threats.
• Define a strategic roadmap prioritizing high-impact abuse operations.
• Collaborate with safety ML teams to improve models via threat signals.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Policy, Legal, and Revenue.
• Advocate for scalable infrastructure like rule engines and ML-based countermeasures.
