Job summary

Discord is seeking an Analytics Manager to lead the Scaled Abuse Countermeasures and Research (SCAR) team. You will drive threat research, model improvements, and automated countermeasures to safeguard the platform integrity.

You will mentor data analysts and researchers, define a strategic roadmap, and partner with Product, Engineering, Policy, Legal, and Revenue to implement safety-by-design changes. Equity and benefits accompany base compensation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of people management experience leading technical teams.
• 4+ years in Trust & Safety domain such as fraud, spam, scams, account compromise or high-volume threats.
• Fluency in SQL and/or Python for data investigation and pattern analysis.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with measurement and experimentation.
• Demonstrated ability to drive automation adoption within operations or incident response workflows.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, translating complex topics for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, scientists, and researchers who investigate active threats.
• Define a strategic roadmap that prioritizes and disrupts high-impact abuse operations.
• Collaborate with the safety machine learning team to improve models by identifying threat signals.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Policy, Legal and Revenue, influencing safety-by-design decisions.
• Influence infrastructure toward automated rule engines, ML models, or agent moderation tools.
