Brooksource is seeking an Analytics Engineer to support the modernization of enterprise data warehouses using Amazon Redshift and SQL Server in Charlotte, NC. This 1-year contract offers a hybrid work arrangement (3 days per week onsite in uptown Charlotte) with potential extension or full-time hire.

You will design dimensional models, develop SQL transformations, migrate from legacy systems, and collaborate with business stakeholders and Data Engineers to deliver trusted analytics and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon Redshift and cloud-based data warehouses.
• Strong SQL with complex joins and performance tuning.
• Experience in data modeling and dimensional design.
• Experience migrating from SQL Server or legacy systems.
• Ability to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, or similar tools.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement dimensional data models in Amazon Redshift.
• Build and maintain curated analytics datasets for reporting and BI.
• Apply warehousing best practices including star and snowflake schemas.
• Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and transformations.
• Analyze existing SQL Server databases to understand source structures.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, remediation, and reconciliation.
• Validate migrated data through source-to-target checks.
• Translate business requirements into technical specs and mappings.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on pipelines and production readiness.
• Create data dictionaries and transformation documentation.
• Support testing, validation, and deployment of new capabilities.
