Brooksource is seeking an Analytics Engineer in Charlotte, NC for a 1-year contract to modernize a data warehouse and build robust analytic datasets using Amazon Redshift. The role emphasizes dimensional modeling, complex SQL, and data migration from legacy SQL Server environments.

You will partner with stakeholders and Data Engineers to translate requirements into scalable data solutions, ensuring high data quality and reliable enterprise reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
• 4-7 years of analytics engineering or data warehousing experience
• Hands-on with Amazon Redshift or similar cloud data warehouse
• Advanced SQL including joins, aggregations, window functions
• Experience with SQL Server databases in modernization/migration
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling and EDW design principles
• Experience supporting ETL/ELT and collaborating with Data Eng teams
• Experience validating data and performing data quality checks
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to document technical work clearly
• Experience with Agile/Scrum environments
• Familiarity with BI/analytics tools (Tableau/Power BI/Looker/QuickSight)
• Experience supporting large-scale analytics environments
• Understanding of enterprise data architecture and cloud ecosystems

Responsabilités

• Design and implement dimensional data models (facts and dimensions) in Redshift
• Build and maintain curated analytics datasets for reporting and BI
• Apply star/snowflake schemas and slowly changing dimensions
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for analytics
• Analyze SQL Server sources to map data structures and rules
• Profile, cleanse, remediate, and reconcile data during migrations
• Identify and resolve data quality issues (duplicates, nulls, types)
• Validate migrated data via source-to-target reconciliation
• Translate requirements into source-to-target mappings and logic
• Collaborate with Data Engineering on pipelines and production readiness
• Create and maintain data dictionaries and technical docs
• Work with stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet needs
• Support testing, validation, and deployment of warehouse capabilities
