Job summary

Common App is seeking an Analytics Engineer to advance our shared data warehouse, semantic layer, and reusable data assets. You will work closely with Data Engineering and Applied Analytics to deliver analytics-ready data and ensure governance standards are technically enforceable.

The role focuses on optimizing pipelines, building data quality automation, and shaping data products for scalable, self-service analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
• 5–8 years of analytics engineering or data engineering experience.
• Experience in enterprise data warehouse at scale with data models, pipelines, and data quality processes.
• Experience implementing data governance (retention, deletion, PII controls) in data platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling; Python for data engineering.

Responsibilities

• Evolve Common App’s data warehouse, semantic layer, and reusable data assets to enable scalable analytics, governance, and AI readiness.
• Partner with Data Engineering and Applied Analytics to deliver insight-ready data; work with Data Governance on enforceable standards.
• Refactor pipelines for performance and cost efficiency; design automated data quality frameworks; set up monitoring/alerting for datasets.
