Job summary

Sprinter Health is seeking an Analytics Engineer to build the trusted data layer that analysts, data scientists, and business teams rely on. You will own canonical models, metric definitions, transformations, documentation, and tests to ensure data is reliable and reusable across the company.

You’ll define table and field semantics, model data via dbt, and partner with stakeholders to prevent data drift and metric chaos as Sprinter Health scales.

Qualifications

• Experience building analytics engineering, BI, or data modeling systems in production data warehouses.
• Expert SQL skills and data modeling that support reporting and decision-making.
• Experience with dbt or equivalent transformation framework.
• Build reusable data models with tests and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Build canonical data models creating a single source of truth for the company.
• Define and maintain core business, operational, financial, product, and customer metrics.
• Model data in dbt or equivalent, enabling dashboards and self-serve analytics.
• Write tests, docs, and data quality checks to catch issues early.
• Create definitions for tables, fields, and metrics for cross-team clarity.
• Reconcile metric definitions across internal and payer reporting needs.
• Trace lineage and debug dashboards or tables that change unexpectedly.
• Partner with analysts, data scientists, operations, finance, product, and engineering to translate needs into reliable models.
• Help design reusable reporting frameworks for onboarding payers.
• Improve warehouse architecture and strengthen data contracts with the data platform team.
• Support PHI-aware data access patterns and ensure compliant modelling.
