Job summary

Sprinter Health is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to build Sprinter’s production ML systems, training and inference pipelines, and governance practices. This founding role defines how ML moves from prototype to production, with collaboration across engineering, data, product, and operations teams.

You will shape serving architecture, feature paradigms, monitoring, and deployment standards, empowering teams to move fast while maintaining reliability and safety for patient care.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production software, data systems or ML systems
• Experience deploying ML systems across training, serving, monitoring, and deployment
• Experience turning prototypes into production-grade systems
• Background in ML infrastructure, MLOps, or platform engineering
• Ability to design and implement scalable ML architectures
• Collaborates with data science, product, and operations teams

Responsibilities

• Decide Sprinter’s ML platform and deployment paradigm across training, serving, features, monitoring and governance
• Build production training and inference pipelines that are reliable and observable
• Package models for deployment and serve predictions via APIs or batch jobs
• Create interfaces between data systems, models, and product systems
• Maintain feature pipelines and ensure data freshness
• Implement monitoring for model performance, drift, and data quality
• Automate retraining, validation, deployment, and rollback workflows
• Set technical standards and raise the bar for ML engineering across the org
