Sweetwater, the nation’s leading online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments, is seeking an Analytics Engineer to partner with data engineers, scientists, BI developers, and stakeholders to build and maintain our analytic data architecture.

This role focuses on serving internal customers with top-tier data and analytics, informing business decisions across merchandising, service, and operations.

Qualifications

• SQL knowledge is essential for designing data models and transforming data.
• Experience with ETL design and data integration across systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner with multiple teams.
• Familiarity with dbt and analytics engineering best practices.
• Knowledge of cloud data warehouses and BI semantic layers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Enable analytics use cases for merchandising and service teams by building data models and pipelines.
• Transform and standardize raw data for the data warehouse to ease end-user consumption.
• Create and maintain the semantic layer used by the BI platform.
• Apply software engineering best practices to analytics code, including version control and testing; participate in code reviews.
• Maintain data documentation and definitions; train users on data availability and structure.
• Monitor health of the analytic data platform and identify data gaps or redundancies.
• Assist in ad-hoc analysis or supplying data for urgent business needs.
