Job summary

CurbWaste seeks an Analytics Engineer to build our data and analytics function from the ground up in New York City. You’ll own dashboards, metrics, and data models across operations, finance, and product, and partner with engineering to shape our data warehouse and BI stack.

You'll prepare data for AI-powered features planned for 2026, delivering insights autonomously and driving decisions with stakeholders across the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field (CS, Stats, Econ, Eng, or similar).
• 4+ years of experience with the modern data stack: cloud data warehouse, transformation layer/orchestrator, and a BI tool.
• Deep SQL expertise; ability to write and optimize complex queries.
• Demonstrated grit and resourcefulness in high-growth, ambiguous environments.
• Strong communicator who translates data into recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-directed and proactive; you don’t wait to be asked.
• Mission-driven attitude focusing on customer impact.

Responsibilities

• Build and own dashboards, reports, and self-serve analytics across the company.
• Partner with engineering to design and implement the data warehouse and BI stack.
• Define metrics and data models for operational and financial performance.
• Prepare and structure datasets powering AI and machine learning initiatives.
• Work cross-functionally with product, ops, finance, and engineering to deliver insights.
• Establish data quality standards and documentation for a future data team.
