Job summary

Pacific Life Insurance seeks an Analytics Engineer to join the Product Analytics team. The role bridges Life Insurance and Annuity analytics with data engineering to deliver AI tools that enhance decision-making across CMD Product Development.

The team is based in Newport Beach, CA, with on-site 4 days a week and 1 day remote, including Charlotte, NC. You will build AI-enabled analytics, partner with actuaries, design data models and Snowflake assets, and develop dashboards and production-ready

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field or equivalent experience.
3+ years in analytics, data engineering, data science, ML, AI, or related discipline.
Experience with SQL, Python, Snowflake, and dbt.
Familiarity with generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, ML, and workflow automation.

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy AI and analytics solutions, including generative AI applications and workflow automation.
Partner with Product Development Actuaries to translate needs into scalable data and AI capabilities.
Design and maintain data models, pipelines, and Snowflake assets for reporting and AI tools.
Create dashboards that drive quick decision making.
Build and maintain Python- and SQL-based solutions to automate processes and improve data solutions.
Support AI initiatives from concept to deployment and iteration.
Champion best practices in analytics engineering, responsible AI, and data governance.
