Job summary

Delta Air Lines in Atlanta is seeking an Operations Planning & Performance co‑op to support analytics in various functions, including Aircraft Performance Planning, Airport Performance Planning, and ODDS. You’ll build reports and dashboards, analyze operational data, and help improve on‑time performance.

Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate program in CS/Analytics/Engineering/IS, able to work three alternating semesters, and capable of reporting in person or relocating with housing

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing a 4‑year degree (CS/Analytics/Engineering/IS)
• Available for three alternating semesters of full‑time work
• Ability to report in‑person to Delta’s World Headquarters (Atlanta, GA) or relocate each semester
• Strong teamwork and continuous improvement mindset
• Basic understanding of data management and ETL/ELT pipelines
• Proficiency with Python or similar languages
• Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT patterns
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis concepts
• Excellent organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills
• Willingness to adapt quickly and learn new skills
• Commitment to safety, security and data privacy

• Minimum age 18 with work authorization in the United States

Responsibilities

• Measure current operational performance and/or customer satisfaction
• Identify optimization opportunities to reduce injuries and security line wait times
• Research, analyze, and interpret operational data
• Develop new reports and dashboards and automate existing ones
• Perform reliability/root‑cause analysis for parts and maintenance
• Evaluate and provide recommendations for improvement of key operational metrics
• Seek operational improvements to reduce aircraft taxi time and flight time
• Maintain, run and improve staffing models to support airport operations
• Provide strategic and operational support and develop performance metrics and goals
• Develop successful factors and statistical evaluations of new procedures and systems
