The Pennsylvania State University Library Assessment Department seeks an Analysis and Planning Consultant to lead the University Libraries’ User Engagement Program. You will guide evidence‑based decision making across the university, coordinating qualitative and quantitative research, and advising on methodological rigor.

The role reports to the Head of Library Assessment and involves mentoring staff and collaborating with multiple units.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional experience conducting or supporting applied research and assessment in an academic or research‑intensive context
• Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods including statistical analysis and data analysis software
• Ability to manage multiple analytic or assessment projects simultaneously and work both independently and in teams
• Excellent organizational skills with reliable, timely task completion
• Experience consulting with faculty, researchers, or units to scope analytic needs and communicate findings
• Familiarity with ethical research practices and IRB processes in academic environments
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills to translate analyses into actionable insights

Responsabilités

• Lead and refine the User Engagement Program to understand user needs, experiences, outcomes and perceived value
• Design and conduct investigations to evaluate library services and initiatives and communicate findings
• Collaborate with departments and leadership to define research questions and methodologies
• Translate research findings into organizational intelligence to inform planning and decisions
• Mentor colleagues and participate in university‑wide service initiatives and partnerships
• Provide consultation on study design, analytics, and ethical research practices
