Job summary

Rigaku Americas Corp. in the Albany, NY area is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to service and maintain analytical X-ray equipment across the United States, with potential international assignments.

You will troubleshoot electronic and mechanical problems, install and modify software, train customers on alignment and use, and complete service reports. Willingness to travel and ability to obtain security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent training.
• Valid driver's license and passport.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.
• Previous service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain customer Analytical X-ray Equipment within the United States.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical problems of analytical X-ray equipment.
• Install and modify system software as needed for equipment applications.
• Provide customer phone assistance for troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Perform customer training on the alignment and use of their analytical systems.
• Complete installations of X-ray generators, optics, detectors, and related maintenance/repair.

Responsibilities

• Based in Albany, New York area but may travel to customer locations throughout the United States to service and maintain customer Analytical X-ray Equipment and associated devices.
• Troubleshoot and repair Electronic and Mechanical problems of Analytical X-ray Equipment.
• Install and modify system software as needed for equipment applications
• Customer phone assistance for preliminary troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Perform Customer training on the alignment and use of their Analytical Systems
• Complete installations of X-ray Generators, Optics, Detections Devices and troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of same.
• Complete and submit a weekly report to the service manager regarding customer problems.
• Complete and submit Service Reports using Rigaku service database on all service work performed
• Maintain and update Customer Profiles as changes occur to customer equipment
• Complete and submit weekly expense reports to the service manager
• Ability to work in a clean room environment.
• International travel to Rigaku's factories in Japan and other locations may be required to learn new techniques and service methods associated with Rigaku systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent training minimum)
• Valid Driver's License
• Valid Passport
• Previous Service Experience would be highly desired.
• Ability to obtain security clearance to customers and governmental facilities required.
• Previous Thin Film and Metrology experience would be an asset.
