Job summary

Aurolife in Durham, NC seeks a Chemist A to perform QC testing of raw materials, in-process and finished products, using HPLC, GC, UV-Vis and other methods. You will plan and execute analytical testing with supervision, maintain reagents, document results, and help ensure cGMP compliance.

BS in a science is required with 2-3 years pharma experience; 1-2 years in analytical testing is desirable. Join a team focused on quality and efficiency in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and 1–2 years in analytical testing.
• QC experience in generic pharmaceutical industries preferred.
• Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices; knowledge of USP/ICH/FDA guidelines.
• Ability to learn quickly and possess decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned sampling, physical, chemical tests and assay on raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients, in-process, finished and stability products, using various wet chemicals, physical and instrumental techniques (HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, IR, Particle Size Analyzer, KF Auto titrator, Bulk Density, and other routine QC instruments).
• Independently plan and maintain adequate inventory of test reagents and solutions to perform work; ensure supplies are ordered as needed.
• Independently plan and execute testing to meet established timelines. Perform complicated testing with supervisory direction.
• Record data and results as specified in documentation procedures. Document work clearly and perform tests accurately.
• Prepare and/or review Test Procedures, SOPs, and Protocols as assigned.
• Perform maintenance and calibrations of laboratory instruments/equipment with supervisory direction/training.
• Perform troubleshooting and investigations under the direction of a supervisor.
• Comply with regulatory and in-house requirements (e.g., safety, housekeeping, laboratory chemical waste, cGMP, cGLP, documentation) when performing the assigned activity.
• Review of analytical documents as required.
