Job summary

SGS is seeking a Lab Analyst for its Clovis, CA laboratory. The role involves preparing and analyzing samples with precision per SGS SOPs, using department instrumentation, and working both independently and as part of a team to meet daily targets and turnaround times.

The position requires an Associate or Bachelor degree in Chemistry (or related) with relevant analytical lab experience, advanced English, strong math skills, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Chemistry or similar scientific discipline with 0–2 years in Analytical Chemistry labs OR 3 years of relevant experience (Sample Prep).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry with 1–2 years’ relevant experience (preferred).
• Advanced English language skills (Required).
• Strong mathematical and reasoning skills (Required).
• Basic computer skills (Required).
• Ability to lift/carry/push or pull upwards of 25 lbs on a frequent basis (Required).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze samples according to SGS’s SOPs using department instrumentation.
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, calibration of laboratory instruments/equipment.
• May assist with validation and MDL studies.
• Assist with investigation and responses to client inquiries and CARs.
• Input and maintain technical information to support lab functions.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
