Job summary

Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory is seeking a Diagnostic Technician in College Station to support analytical chemistry operations. The role involves sample prep, extractions, data entry in LIMS, and reporting results on veterinary and environmental specimens.

Work is performed onsite with a strong emphasis on quality assurance and safety. Required qualifications include a high school diploma and familiarity with lab equipment; preferred are an associate/bachelor’s degree and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and computer equipment.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Clinical veterinary or medical lab experience preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced/high-volume environments.
• Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and LIMS.
• Knowledge of QA and safety programs.
• Understanding of veterinary/medical terminology.
• Team player with prioritization and deadline management.
• LVT or MLT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze samples, run instrumentation, and report results.
• Sample prep and cataloging in LIMS; review test requests and instruction.
• Testing: extractions and related assays in veterinary/environmental samples.
• Data entry and reporting; ensure QA and documentation compliance.
• Client communication to clarify requests and discuss submissions.
• QA, safety, SOP adherence and training of staff.
• Collaborate with leadership and others in test development and maintenance.
• Inventory, equipment calibration, and troubleshooting when needed.
