Responsibilities

• Multifaceted duties: prepare and analyze samples, run instrumentation, perform assays, and report results.
• Samples include veterinary specimens and environmental samples (soil/water).
• Handle routine, repetitive tasks of moderate complexity with supervision.
• Sample Preparation, Sample Cataloging: retrieve samples, order testing in LIMS, ensure samples fit test purpose.
• Review submittal forms and interpret test requests; catalog samples for archival.
• Testing: perform extractions for analyte isolation; bromide quantitation and nitrate toxicity.
• Data Entry, Interpretation, Results: record observations in LIMS; ensure QA.
• Client Communication: contact clients to clarify test requests and discuss submissions.
• Quality Assurance & Safety: adhere to QA and safety programs; dispose of hazardous chemicals.
• SOPs, Procedures, Forms: read and perform tests per SOPs; suggest improvements.
• Research, Reference Materials, Test Development: assist in research and development of new tests.
• Supplies, Stock, Inventory, Equipment: manage inventory; notify if low; calibrate equipment.
